What to wear for Pandal-hopping this year?

One of the most thought-provoking question during Durga Pujo :
Refreshing smell of shuli phul in the air, white cotton like clouds floating in the blue sky and an utterly festive mood throughout Bengal, reminds us that Ma Durga is on her way!!!!!!
Knock Knock!!!!!!!
Ma Durga at your door!!! With a “five days package” full of love, happiness, enjoyment, blessings, gifts, new dress and unlimited fun......
Open your door and just grab it......
Finally Durga Pujo around the corner!!!
And Pujo is unambiguously incomplete without Pandal hopping. Actually, it’s one of the most integral parts of pujo.
So, ultimately the time is here to execute your yearlong plan for a gala hang out and pandal hopping with your buddies.
Pandal hopping is all about roaming with friends aimlessly, jumping on the street side food stall selling all kinds of restricted food and never ending fun. It’s an absolute quality time you spend with your loved ones which you cherish thought out the year.
While planning for pandal-hopping with friends, first point strikes in our mind is-“what should be our outfit to be an absolute head turner”??????
Comfortable dresses which may be carried easily should be the key concern for Pandal hopping. Your dress should not be your baggage. Comfortable footwear is yet another important point.
So let’s find out some super comfy yet classy attire especially for your 4days Pandal hopping program...
SASTI...The initial day
As most of us don’t have a holiday on sasti, so you should choose a dress which is apt for office or tuition classes and gels well for pandal hopping purpose too.
If you are an office goer then you may drape yourself in beautiful light weight elegant saree or even a graceful salwar kameez.
Fabrics like tissue silk, crepe cotton, net, and chiffon are some fabulous variants of light weight splendid saree. Heavily embroidered or stone work is less preferable. Cotton or faux georgette salwar with small sequin work looks awesome.

Salwar-kameez is the most comfortable yet classy attire. It can be easily draped hence perfect for regular use. Cotton printed salwar is unputdownable for this purpose.
You may also rock any occasion in a gorgeous lavish salwar kameez .Fabrics like silk, net, faux georgette, shimmer silk with heavy embroidery, stone or zardozi work are drop dead gorgeous.
You may also try front open lawn chiffon kurti with palazzo for a western cum traditional look.
If you are going for a saree then don’t forget a small bindi and a pair of small jhumka.
Men may opt for either cotton kurta pyjama or simply jeans and a cool T-shirt.
SAPTAMI
The real fun starts from Saptami.
For Saptami special pandal hopping you may pick a superb smarty and comfy outfit like maxi dress. Maxi dress comes in some cozy fabrics like chiffon, faux georgette or fine quality silk. If you are confident with your body then you should surely pick an off-shoulder maxi dress.
Jumpsuit is also an exceptional option. Poly crepe or rayon fabric animal printed jumpsuit is now on demand. Jeans or skirt with crop top is yet another wonderful choice for college or school going bubbly teens.
Menswear :Though options for men are limited but they give their female counterpart a strong competition in a super posh kurta with a waist coat.
Kurta also comes in some dazzling variants like Bandgala, Kalidar, Jhulki kurta and much more. Don’t forget a matching royal Nagrai shoe for a complete festive look.
ASHTAMI- the day to rejuvenate the pure Bangali (not Bong) self inside you...
Ashtami is totally incomplete without a gorgeous saree and dhuti panjabe.
Lavish sarees like benarasi, kanjeevaram, khosa silk, Dhakai jamdani , extensively embroidered velvet saree are appropriate for asthami.
You may also go for a super net saree with semi-precious stone work for a ravishing look. Shimmer georgette saree with intricate motif is also splendid pick.
I just can’t think beyond a dhuti panjabi for a” Bangali Babu” on the auspicious day of astami. Ready to wear dhotis is a smart solution to your dhoti draping cumbersome.
Fabric like silk, tussar and satin with embroidery work or zari work is simply breath taking. Knee length long punjabe (kurta) pairs up well with a dhoti. Brocade silk or Tanchoi embroidered kurta looks magnificent.
NAVAMI

Navami is the perfect day to flaunt your luxurious ANARKALI salwar suit.
Extensively embellished jacquard, velvet, net Anarkali is alluring. Net fabric with fine zardoozi work or chanderi work is equally charming.
Sherwani is no doubt a unique option for navami special look for mens. Various types of sherwani like achkan, chipan, jhodpuri sherwani and Pakistani sherwani are now quiet famous among Bangali mens.
Hey, there Charming Bangali ladies and impressive “Bangali Babus” gear up to be a showstopper this puja!!!!!!
Wish you all a very happy and prosperous Durga Pujo
